According to AllHipHop.com, rapper T.I. has been released from prison after turning himself in this past May to serve a 366 day term. Of course, this doesn’t mean he’s a free man just yet. Instead, T.I. has been released to a halfway house in Atlanta where he will work for 3 months. Of his stay, his lawyer, Steve Saddow says:
“A halfway house is more along the lines of a residential dormitory. You live within this house that is broken into areas for living, and you are permitted to leave during the day for certain reasons of which would be employment, medical reasons, things of that nature, and you return to the halfway house in the evening. So it’s a restriction on your liberty but it’s a way for you to reenter into society and not be confined within a jail type institution 24-hours a day.”
After his time there, he will serve an additional 23 days of house arrest and have 500 more hours of community service to complete. Regardless, it looks like T.I. will be home with his family for Christmas.
