Natural disaster has struck the already struggling Haiti. Yesterday, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake shook the country, leaving an indeterminable amount of destruction and casualties as the aftermath; Port-au-Prince, the capital city, was one of the hardest hit areas. The US and other countries have offered their support for relief efforts, but because the scale of needs wasn’t immediately available, they have been on standby. Other agencies with easier access to the country have been on the ground working since the quake.
Haitian ambassador and musician Wyclef Jean is making his way to his home country in an effort to help and has urged the international community to do the same.
