News: Arizona Governor Makes Changes To Immigration Law

arizona-protest

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed minor changes into the immigration law on Friday. She claims the added wording makes it clear that racial profiling is illegal and should not be used in conjunction with the new law. In case you don’t know, Arizona recently passed a law requiring immigrants within the state to carry their alien registration documents with them at all times. Under it, police officers have the ability to stop and question people they believe to be in the country illegally. Another one of the changes states that officers can only question legal status while enforcing some other law. Modified wording or not, how would these changes actually prevent racial profiling from happening?
