So below is a letter and song from my old labelmate John Forte. He left a verse open for anyone who wants to jump on it. I recently ran into him at SOBs; his vibe was so laid back and “knowing.” And if you don’t know what he’s accomplished, where he made his mistakes, and where he has landed as a man, read here and watch here first, then read his letter and rock on below!

I’ve been in the final throes of the new album for some time. Last night, as I read over the day’s events, I felt unrestricted and inspired. I felt in my heart of hearts that the boundaries of yesteryear were no more. There have been so many requests from artists (“known” and “unknown” alike) to collaborate… Unfortunately, I can’t accept every invitation. Last night I decided to write and release a track that would give any and every artist the opportunity to collaborate our energies. The result, “Oil on the Shore”

I left the second verse open. There’s room to breathe. There’s room to be creative. There’s room to be heard.
I encourage artists to download the track, write to it, record it and feel that they are included.
Peace and love,
John Forté
