Now y’all know I love when the “girls” come out to play (get your mind out the gutter, not those girls…SMH. LOL.) But the girls that are writing the soundtracks to our lives. The first time I heard Jazmine Sullivan‘s music I said “TURN THAT UP!! Who is that?” The lyrics from “Bust Your Windows” were daring and honest, and yes, love can make you feel that way. Now, I never busted anyone’s windows out, but I sure did have my car windows busted one day with a brick (true story). Love/obsession can make you feel some crazy things, eh?
From inside sources I hear that Jazmine is just, well Jazmine. How she writes songs is how she talks, how she sings and what she sings is simply and plainly who she is. No holds barred, no BS, this is Jazmine for real. So while she had us “Going In Circles” it was just a warm up. Get ready for the tornado, her latest gift Love Me Back is available today on iTunes and in stores. I had the opportunity to interview Jazmine in Atlanta, while filling in for a shift at V-103 in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. Check it out.
