Heavy D‘s family and friends will gather this week to lay the Hip Hop legend, son, and father to rest. A public viewing has been set for Thursday, November 17, while a private funeral service will be held the following day in Mount Vernon, New York, Heavy’s hometown.

A viewing for the family and friends of Heavy will take place on Thursday (November 17) from 12:00 PM until 6 PM, in the rapperâ€™s hometown of Mount Vernon, New York.
A private funeral for Heavyâ€™s close family and friends will be held the following day (November 18) at Grace Baptist Church, also in Mount Vernon.
Reverend Dr. W. Franklyn Richardson will be on hand deliver the eulogy during the service.
Heavy, real name Dwight Arrington Myers, passed away suddenly at the age of 44 last Tuesday after being rushed to a Los Angeles hospital. A specific cause of death has not been named, but Heavy was reportedly sick with a respiratory illness at the time.
