If you’ve been waiting for Dr. Dre to release his long awaited album Detox, this might be some disappointing news. In a recent interview with FADER, Dre revealed that he has plans to take a break from music.

At the New York City opening of his Beats By Dre pop up shop, he discussed the success of the headphones line and his future in music.

“I’ve been working on music for 27 years now and the longest I’ve ever been out of the studio in 27 years has been 2 weeks. I feel like I’m gonna take a little bit of a break. I’m never gonna stop music; it’s like air to me.

So, I’m gonna take a little bit of a break, enjoy some time with family, until I get that itch to get back in.”

In the meantime, Dre says he will be working on developing his artists Kendrick Lamar and Slim the Mobster.
