Huge congratulations are in order for new parents Beyonce and Jay Z. Tonight, the couple welcomed their first child into the world, a baby girl born at a New York City hospital.

E! News has learned that the Carters have named their new daughter Blue Ivy Carter and that she arrived via a scheduled C-section. Billboard.com has also confirmed the reports though an official statement hasn’t been made.

Many of the couple’s friends have given their congratulations and Roc Nation artist Rihanna tweeted not too long ago confirming the birth:

Early Saturday night, The New York Daily News reported that Beyonce had checked into Lenox Hill Hospital under an alias in preparation for her birth.
