Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins was in the wrong place at the wrong time during last night’s game with the Los Angeles Clippers. Instead of blocking the shot of Clippers power forward Blake Griffin, he ended up posterized when Griffin did what he does, and dunked all over him.
In the third quarter, Griffin caught a bounce pass from teammate Chris Paul with Perkins near the basket, and before anyone knew it… Well, you can watch for yourself what happened next:
Miami Heat star LeBron James had his own memorable dunk on Sunday night against the Chicago Bulls when he jumped over John Lucas. LeBron took to Twitter to chime in on Griffin’s dunk:
Dunk of the Year!! @blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!! Wow!! I guess I’m #2 now. Move over #6
Interesting… I remember when LeBron supposedly confiscated all traces of a young Jordan Crawford dunking on him. Hmmm…
After the game, Perkins said of the dunk:
“It happens. When you’re a shot blocker, you’ll get dunked on. It was great play that he made. Obviously, I wish I wasn’t in it.”
