After the first season of “The X Factor USA” failed to perform how he wanted, Simon Cowell went on the hunt for the perfect judges of the talent competition. While keeping music executive L.A. Reid, Cowell let go of Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. Well, he’s found his replacements with the help of Britney Spears.

FOX finally confirmed today (after premature speculation last week) that the pop star has officially joined the judges panel on the show. Britney reportedly signed a $15 million contract for her new position, which will start this fall. On becoming a judge, Britney said, “I’m so excited about this whole experience. It’s going to be so much fun and so different than anything I’ve ever done. I’m ready to find a true star.”

Joining Spears will be singer and actress Demi Lovato.

Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston, before her death, were all names thrown around to be new judges for the upcoming season.
