Chaka Khan, one of Whitney Houston‘s longtime friends, will perform a tribute to the singer during this year’s Apollo Theater gala.

The event will take place on June 4 in New York City and will also be when Etta James and Lionel Richie will be inducted into the legendary theater’s hall of fame.

Soul Train leader Don Cornelius and songwriter Nick Ashford, both who have died within the past year, will be honored that night as well.
