Comedian Will Ferrell surprised everyone earlier this year when he announced that Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy would be returning with a sequel. A first look at the new film, Anchorman: The Legend Continues, has been released and it looks like the original news team will also be coming back.

Director Adam McKay recently explained what the sequel will be about:

“It’s right when all the news started changing with the 24-hours news cycle in ’78 or ’79. All of a sudden, local news stations diversified and had Latino anchors and African-American anchors, and any time you’re talking about diversity and the Action News team, that’s always fun to deal with.”

Fans of the movie can expect to see Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, David Koechner, plus a few celebrity cameos in Anchorman: The Legend Continues, which is set to be released in theaters some time in 2013.
