In very sad news, Yvette Wilson, actress and star of hit sitcom shows “Moesha” and “The Parkers,” has passed away at the age of 48 after her battle with cervical cancer.
Wilson succumbed to her disease on Thursday night, a month after she turned to the public to not only reveal her condition but to also ask for donations to help raise money to cover her medical expenses.
Her cancer had advanced to stage 4 at the time of her death and she also experienced kidney failure.
Yvette began her career as a comedian, landing her first big role on “Thea,” which also starred Brandy. She appeared in House Party 3, Friday, and Poetic Justice before landing a part on “Moesha.” From 1996 to 2004, Wilson played the role of Andell Wilkerson, first on “Moesha” and then on the spinoff show “The Parkers,” starting in 1999.
Condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time.
