The list of performers for the 2012 BET Awards continues to grow. Now, Cissy Houston, the late Whitney Houston‘s mother, has been added to the award show lineup.

Reportedly, Cissy will take part in a tribute performance honoring her daughter that will include a “few top divas.” The other artists that will join Cissy on stage have not yet been announced.

Cissy is also writing a memoir on Whitney’s life that will “go behind the headlines to show the true, human side of this strong, successful yet complicated musical icon.”

The 2012 BET Awards will air live from Los Angeles on July 1.
