Snoop Dogg's Son Offered Football Scholarship From UCLA

It looks like Diddy‘s son Justin Combs isn’t the only Hip Hop kid making moves in sports. Justin was offered (and accepted) a full athletic scholarship to UCLA and now, Snoop Dogg‘s 15 year old son Cordell Broadus has also received a scholarship offer from the school.

Cordell, who is 6’2″ and weighs 185 pounds, has just finished his freshman year at Diamond Bar High School in California, but UCLA already has its eyes on him. This past school year, Cordell played both defensive back and wide receiver and has been considered as a standout player on the field.

UCLA’s scholarship is the first offer Cordell has received but his coach Ryan Maine said, “We’re expecting him to really lead us the next three years. Hopefully (our athletes) get bigger, stronger, and keep leading this team.”

Maine also let it be known that Cordell was offered the scholarship based on his skill and not his celebrity dad’s name.

“Jim Mora called me on Sunday to tell me why he offered him and he said he didn’t find out until after that he was Snoop’s son. He said he liked his competitive nature, his size and his frame, especially for him only being a sophomore.

“I was surprised he got an offer this early. I thought it might come after he started playing this season. He was real humble about it and didn’t even want anybody to know because he didn’t want anything to get blown out of proportion. He knows a lot can change in three years with coaching staffs and things like that.”

So it seems like even more offers will be on the way soon. Congratulations to Cordell!
