J Dilla Fundraiser Planned In DC To Fight Lupus And Celebrate His Legacy

The 7th Annual DC Loves Dilla Tribute will take place tomorrow, Saturday, July 14 at The Fillmore.

The longstanding celebration of the legendary producer’s work, life, and fight against Lupus will feature performances from some of Detroit’s finest (Dilla’s hometown). Slum Village, Guilty Simpson, Frank Nitt, and 17 artists* from Washington DC as part of the “DMV Meets the D” theme.

Last year, Common spoke a few words about what attendees can expect from every DC Loves Dilla tribute, saying, “You experience creativity in its highest level. You experience what J Dilla brought to music, to art, to life.
