B.G. Sentenced To 14 Years In Prison

Yesterday, former Cash Money artist and Hot Boys member B.G. was sentenced to 14 years in prison for gun possession and witness tampering.

B.G., real name Christopher Dorsey, pleaded guilty to felony possession of a firearm last December. The charges stem from a 2009 incident when he was pulled over by New Orleans police and several guns were found in the vehicle.

At the time he entered his plea, the 31 year old also admitted to witness tampering because he allegedly got Demounde Pollard, one of the 2 other men in the car, to tell police the guns were his instead of B.G.’s.

B.G. has largely refused to cooperate with police in the case and originally faced up to 40 years in prison for the charges.

His former label mate Juvenile spoke with AllHipHop.com after news broke of the sentencing, saying:

“I don’t feel good about it. It’s one of those situations where you get sick in your stomach. I wish nothing but good things for him and his family, his kids, because you don’t want to see nobody go get locked up that long and be away from their family.”

Though B.G.’s music and videos were brought up by prosecutors to increase the length of his sentence, the judge in the case refused to let the material be used against him.
