Whitney Houston has been gone 5 months as of last week, and to me, it wasn’t real until I got to the BET Awards this year and watched her mom sing to her. The emotion, the acknowledgement of reality came at that moment for me. So, I’m excited about the Grammy Museum’s new exhibit that will explore the legacy of the late Whitney Houston.
The Grammy Museum, located in Los Angeles, plans to honor Whitney with an upcoming exhibit that will feature: stage costumes (along with her 1992 Grammy dress), her personal Bible, rare photos, scrapbooks from her albums and career, and memorabilia from concerts, tours, and fans.
Whitney’s family and other artists who worked with the pop icon contributed to the exhibit. Pat Houston, Whitney’s manager and sister-in-law said that it is intended to be a “thank you” of sorts to fans who supported Whitney throughout her career.
“This exhibit is a token of appreciation from our family for Whitney’s fans to enjoy and embrace. We hope they are as elated as we are to have shared in such a remarkable life.â€
The Whitney! exhibit will open on August 15.
