R. Kelly and Jay Z were the first to bring us the Best of Both Worlds when they merged Hip Hop and R&B with their joint albums. Though their relationship turned sour after an incident in New York while they were on tour together, R. Kelly says he’s still a “huge fan” of Jay Z’s work.

While speaking to MTV News, R. Kelly commented on how his work with Jay Z was groundbreaking and how he’s still open to working with him, or any other artist for that matter, as long as the feeling is right.

“I love a good marriage — I love love. Anything that works for me, anything that feels good to my soul, that feels like this is what I should do, I’m gonna do it. I don’t care what it is, who it’s with. As long as it’s positive and it works for both parties, I’m with it.”

And as far as who Kels is listening to in today’s music, he threw out a few names, including Trey Songz, who he previously went back and forth with after Trey questioned the quality of his music.

“Lil Wayne, Drake, I still listen to Jay’s stuff. I listen to Trey Songz, I listen to some of everybody, man. Rihanna, Beyoncé. It’s so much talent out there.”

R. Kelly’s most recent album Write Me Back was released earlier this summer and is in stores now.
