President Obama Admits He Was ‘Too Polite’ With Romney In First Debate

President Barack Obama has been dropping hints all week that he missed the ball in the first presidential debate last week. Many have criticized him for being too relaxed against Republican nominee Mitt Romney, and today he finally just outrightly admitted he was “too polite” to his opponent.

The President called into the Tom Joyner Morning Show today and said what everyone has been saying for the last week: he wasn’t aggressive enough during the debate. Though he acknowledged his misstep, he also seemed confident that he would win the election in November, since it was only the first debate.

“I think it’s fair to say I was just too polite, because, you know, it’s hard to sometimes just keep on saying, ‘And what you’re saying isn’t true. It gets repetitive. But, you know, the good news is, is that’s just the first one.

“By next week I think a lot of the hand-wringing will be complete because we’re gonna go ahead and win this thing. You have a seven-game series, we’re up two-zero, and we lose one.

“We’ve got four weeks left in the election and we’re going to take it to him.”

This week is the deadline to register to vote in many states across the country. To check if you are registered to vote in your state, visit CanIVote.org and if you’re not and live in a state whose deadline is today, you still have time to print out a form and mail it in, or go down to your local election board to do it in person.

Also, the vice presidential debate with Vice President Joe Biden and nominee Paul Ryan will take place this Thursday, October 11.
