The movie tells the story of two women in charge of their church’s choir who clash over whether to stay traditional or current with their sound.     Everyone came out for the Los Angeles premiere of comedian Kevin Hart‘s new movie, Laugh At My Pain, last night. Fellow comedians like Eddie Murphy, Cedric the Entertainer, Jamie Foxx, Affion Crockett, and Arsenio Hall stopped by along with Michael Ealy, LisaRaye McCoy, Tichina Arnold, Tisha Campbell Martin, Meagan Good, Claudia Jordan, Eva Marcille, Tocarra Jones, and more.

    It looks like the Oscars will be bringing the funny when comedian and actor Eddie Murphy returns to the stage to host the 84th Academy Awards.   4. TV: Brandy Joins 90210 Cast, Kanye, Nicki Minaj In Illuminati Episode Of Cleveland Show

    After landing a role on Lifetime’s original series Drop Dead Diva, Brandy will add another acting gig to her plate. She recently announced that she will be joining the cast of Fox’s 90210 as Marissa Jackson-Lewis, a politician running for Congress. Her character will be “a cross between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. She’s inspirational but with a drive to get the job done.”

    Brandy, who is working on her upcoming album, said yesterday on Twitter, “I have the acting bug, singing bug, and all around ENTERTAINMENT bug! Ready to inspire and fulfill my new dreams all over again! Pray 4 me:).” (more…)

  5. Watch: Red Tails Trailer Starring Method Man, Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr.

    For the first time since 1994, George Lucas has decided to put his name behind a movie that isn’t associated with Star Wars or Indiana Jones. Red Tails, produced by Lucas’ film company, tells the often untold story of the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II.

    The movie was directed by Anthony Hemingway (who also directed the critically acclaimed HBO series “The Wire”) and stars Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Method Man, Michael B. Jordan, Tristan Wilds, Andre Royo, Ne-Yo, Nate Parker, and Jazmine Sullivan.

  6. Watch: Battleship Trailer Featuring Rihanna

    Rihanna is set to make her big screen debut in the upcoming film Battleship. The movie is a remake of the classic board game and centers around two brothers and naval officers (played by Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard) who fight against an alien invasion. Rihanna plays Petty Officer Raikes, a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jone.

  7. Michael Rapaport Speaks On A Tribe Called Quest Documentary

    Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest, the new documentary based on the classic Hip Hop group, will be opening in DC theaters this weekend. Earlier today, Michael Rapaport, the director of the film, called into the Big Tigger Morning Show with Free to talk about everything that went into making the project come to life. Beats, Rhymes, & Life was previously screened at Sundance in January and got rave reviews from critics.

  8. Watch: Kevin Hart – Laugh At My Pain Movie Trailer

    Fresh off of hosting the 2011 BET Awards, Kevin Hart is getting ready to release his third comedy special this fall. Instead of releasing a DVD of his jokes, like he did with I’m A Grown Little Man (2009) and Seriously Funny (2010), Kevin’s new material will be hitting the big screen.

    The Laugh At My Pain tour made stops in 90 cities, made over $15 million in ticket sales, and has become one of the most successful comedy tours in history. The movie will make its debut on September 9, exclusively in AMC theaters and advanced tickets can be purchased here.

  9. Movies: Jumping The Broom Comes In At Number Three, Fast Five Lands At Two

    The new film Jumping the Broom defied the predictions of movie experts and came in at #3 at this weekend’s box office, grossing $13.7 million. The movie, which stars Laz Alonso, Paula Patton, Loretta Devine, Angela Bassett, Tasha Smith, Mike Epps and more, was made with a budget of $6 million, which means it’s already in the black making profits.
